Overview

Introduced in 1990 by Bitcorp, the Gamate was a portable system.

Technical specifications

  • CPU: Zilog Z80A operating at 4 MHz with cartridge-based bank switching.
  • Memory: 16 KB RAM with 8 KB dedicated video RAM.
  • Display: 160×144 LCD screen with 4-bit color depth (up to 256 colors using dithering).
  • Sound: SN76489-compatible PSG providing three square-wave channels and one noise channel.
