PC-FX¶
Overview¶
Introduced in 1994 by NEC, the PC-FX was a console system.
Technical specifications¶
- CPU: NEC V810 32-bit RISC processor clocked between 20 and 21 MHz.
- Memory: 2 MB main RAM with an additional 2 MB quartet of video RAM for sprite and tile data.
- Display: Custom video shifter outputting 640×480 (interlaced) with 24-bit color, hardware scaling, and sprite effects.
- Sound: Yamaha YMF292 (OPL4) synthesizer delivering FM and PCM sound with stereo DACs.
