Overview

Introduced in 1961 by Digital Equipment Corporation, the PDP-1 was a computer system.

Technical specifications

  • CPU: DEC PDP-1 18-bit word machine clocked at 200 kHz with a single accumulator and index registers.
  • Memory: Up to 4 KB of magnetic-core memory (expandable) for program/data storage.
  • Display: Direct-view CRT with vector graphics at up to 1024 vertical points and a light pen for input.
  • Sound: Simple relay activated buzzer for timing and operator feedback.

Notes

Use Control-Enter or Start to start after loading. Loading may take some time, if the green lights are blinking, it is loading.

Spacewar is two player only, if you only have one controller connected, it will control both ships.
